Fight over $6 billion CRT bill heating up

We warned you recently about a $6 billion bill titled the “Civics Secures Democracy Act,” which is really just a Trojan Horse to use the power of the federal government to push CRT in every American classroom under the guise of “civics” education. For more information on the bill, you can check out an explainer piece from Stanley Kurtz here.As we told you last month, one of the most alarming things about this fake civics bill is that some Senate Republicans don’t seem to recognize just how dangerous it is. Specifically, Senators John Cornyn of Texas, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, and Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma have signed on as co-sponsors.In fact, Senator Cornyn even took to Twitter to call criticism of the bill “a lie.” Here’s the exchange:

But as anyone who has actually read the bill knows, that statement is NOT a lie. Here’s our National Spokeswoman, Kathy Barnette, fresh off her impressive Pennsylvania Senate run, firing back at Cornyn:

There’s no hiding what the Civics Secures Democracy Act is really about – taking control over education and curriculum away from parents and state and local officials and handing it to woke bureaucrats who want to force their political opinions on students. It’s already happening in districts throughout the country, and now the special interests and far Left politicians behind this bill want to take it national. Republicans should not be helping them. That’s why prominent leaders from former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump have all called on Republicans to oppose the bill.
