‘The 1776 Pledge’ Gains Traction With Congressional Candidates

The number of people signing ‘The 1776 Pledge’ keeps piling up as word spreads about our mission. In just the past few days, here are a few candidates who have joined our movement:

Tina Ramirez is running for a US House seat in Virginia’s 7th District that is currently held by Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger. In a statement, she said that “our children should be taught how to think, not what to think, and they certainly should not be taught to judge one another on the basis of skin color or any other external feature.”

Erika Benfield is a congressional candidate in Florida’s 7th District, hoping to unseat Democrat Rep. Stephanie Murphy. After signing the Pledge, Benfield said that “as a first-generation American who achieved my own American Dream through hard work, perseverance, and an unwavering faith in God, I know that this divisive message of hate is a lie that must be kept out of school classrooms.”
